BEN RIVERS MAKES FILMSTwo Years at Sea (8. A man called Jake lives in the middle of the forest. He goes for walks in whatever the weather, and takes naps in the misty fields and woods. He builds a raft to spend time sitting in a loch. Drives a beat- up jeep to pick up wood supplies. Directed by Ben Rivers. With Jake Williams. After working at sea, a man realizes his dream of moving to the middle of the forest. Ben Rivers’ artful, unconventional documentary takes viewers into the serene world of Jake Williams, a recluse who chooses to live alone. The fact that I'm devoting 950 words of prose here to Two Years at Sea might suggest that it is what you'd call the Major Movie of the Week. Not quite. It's really a minor movie, but I mean 'minor' in the noblest, most exalted.
